Brief description and main aims
Engranajes is a Civil Association which seeks that children,adolescents, young people and adults shape their life project through art and strengthen values such as solidarity, civic participation and social responsibility for the community. As a part of its proposal, they carry out music, visual arts, theatre, dance and photography workshops for youth, trying to promote inclusion through the arts. They also empower adolescents and young people by generating many discussions and youth participation spaces to talk about their rights.
Cultural Exposure
“Boulogne,” is a neighbourhood in the northern part of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. Boulogne is part of the District (Partido) of San Isidro and is primarily residential, with a mix of houses, green spaces, and local businesses. It offers a suburban atmosphere while being well-connected to the city center of Buenos Aires. The area has seen growth in recent years, attracting families and young professionals.
Volunteer tasks
Assisting with routine tasks: Volunteers help with the daily operations of the organization, This includes supporting staff and other volunteers in managing schedules, organizing activities, and maintaining an orderly environment.
Supervision of children and youth: Volunteers assist in overseeing the children and young people during their time at the organization, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and engagement in activities.
Providing guidance and support: They offer emotional and social support to participants, creating a positive atmosphere for learning and personal development.
Meal preparation: Volunteers participate in preparing meals for the community, working together with staff.
Food distribution: They help serve meals to the community.
Maintaining cleanliness: Volunteers are responsible for cleaning the kitchen and dining areas after meals, making sure everything is organized and sanitized. Providing workshop materials: Volunteers assist in gathering, preparing, and organizing the materials needed for workshops and activities, such as arts and crafts supplies, educational tools.
Setting up workshop spaces: They help set up the workshop areas, ensuring that everything is in place for the participants.
Distributing and managing supplies: During workshops, volunteers may assist in distributing materials to participants and ensuring that supplies are used efficiently and responsibly.
Library support and management: Volunteers assist in organizing and maintaining the library, ensuring that books and resources are well arranged and accessible to children and youth. They assist in cataloging new books, keeping track of library inventory, and helping children find materials for educational and recreational purposes.
Reading programs: They help coordinate reading activities, encourage children to engage with books, English language teaching: Volunteers design and lead a fun, interactive English workshop for children and youth, focusing on making language learning enjoyable through games, songs, and activities.
Promoting cultural exchange: Volunteers may also introduce elements of cultural exchange, helping children understand the broader context of the English language, including aspects of different cultures.
Building relationships: By spending time with the youth, volunteers help build meaningful relationships and create a sense of belonging and community within the organization.
Assisting with personal development: Volunteers encourage young participants to set goals, improve their skills, and engage in self-reflection. They create a supportive space where personal growth and confidence-building are fostered.

WORKING DAYS/ HOURS: 2 to 4 times per week minimum 5 hours per day
