Brief description and main aims

The School offers courses in basic education:

• Arts and sciences, humanities and commercial studies
• Summer school courses are available with different themes
• Extra-curricular activities like girls guide, boys scout, Red Cross are available during the week for students

Volunteer tasks

• Assisting in classroom teaching (i.e. crosschecking of alphabets, teaching painting, drawing, music and nursery rhymes)
• Introducing activities that will encourage young people to stay in school

Volunteer requirements / Skills

• Be ready to work with children
• Be willing to learn the local language (Yoruba)
• Be open minded and preferably have teaching skills (but not necessary)

All teachers in the project speak English.

Location

The project is located in Sagamu, a town located in the Ogun state.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will stay with a host family.
