Brief description and main aims

The school provides formal education to kids between the ages of 2 to 15 years. We enable the children to play and work independently and yet be able to share and cooperate with others. We want to teach them the sense of respect and self confidence yet be aware of the needs of others. We give the children the knowledge of skills and practical activities as well as make them aware and respect different customs and culture.

Volunteer tasks

Assisting the teacher in the class room
Taking care of the children
Performing Administrative duties
Helping students who need special care or attention in some subjects
Helping to tidy up the school compound

Volunteer requirements / Skills

Be motivated to work with children
Be fluent in English
Be friendly and open-minded

Location

The school is located in Efiduase, in the Ashanti region.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The project would provide accommodation for the volunteers; this can be either in a host family or at the project. Volunteers should be informed that they will be sharing a room with other volunteers. The project in collaboration with ICYE GHANA will make provision for feeding during their stay.
